This is a passive piezo mic which benefits a lot from a piezo preamp but will also work well with a guitar amp. This mic will also fit most bridge slots. Please specify 1/4" or 1/8" mono output.

This mic is good for getting into tight spots, but the sound you get out of it will depend a lot on how well it contacts the vibratory surface. Works best when wedged tightly or glued down. Great for noise enthusiasts.

ALL PRODUCTS - Piezos and Parts

27mm Brass Piezo Discs

These are the piezos I primarily use for my mics. They have an excellent frequency response that ranges from about 20 HZ up into the ultrasonic range. Because they're built with a brass resonating disc, they have a degree of self-resonance that produces a louder, if sometimes 'tinny' sounding signal which can be improved by damping. Make your own contact mics, drum triggers, speakers, switches, buzzers, transducers...

$1 Each , 10 for $9, 50 for $40, or 100 for $70 USD

Lettermail shipping available (uninsured) : $1 within Canada, $2 Internationally (50 to 100 discs - $10 Shipping)

20mm Small Brass Piezo Discs

Same as above but smaller, slightly beefier discs that can be used to make your own contact mics, drum triggers, speakers, switches, buzzers, transducers...

$1 Each , 10 for $9, 50 for $40, or 100 for $70 USD

Lettermail shipping available (uninsured) : $1 within Canada, $2 Internationally (50 to 100 discs - $10 US)

Small PVDF Piezo Film Tabs

These 1 inch by 1/2 inch flexible fluoropolymer film tabs have two metal pins for soldering to connections of your choice. These film tabs usually need to be shielded to reduce hum. They have a vast frequency response range in excess of 0.001 HZ to over 1 billion HZ.

Self-Adhesive Copper Shielding Tape

23 mm wide and sold by the foot, this is the tape used to shield film tab microphones, or anything else for that matter. Easy to solder to, with one side coated with a clear sticky adhesive. Conductive on both sides and sharp, so use caution when handling.

Copper tape will be be packaged by folding into 9 inch sections to fit into envelopes, so expect a few neat creases which can be smoothed out later with a bone folder or fingernail.

$2 USD per foot

Lettermail shipping available (uninsured) : $1 within Canada, $2 Internationally (insured shipping - $10 US)
